FOUR KNOCKS
Four Knocks, nestled in the heart of County Meath, is a sacred place where time itself seems to pause. This ancient passage tomb, built around 3,000 BCE, stands as a silent witness to the passage of ages, its entrance aligned with the setting sun during the winter solstice—a symbol of renewal and the eternal dance of life and death. In days long past, it is said to have been a site of profound ritual, where the cycles of nature and the rebirth of the sun were honored by those who sought communion with the divine. The name Four Knocks is thought to be drawn from the four great mounds that encircle the site, embodying the earth itself and the spirits of the ancestors who once walked this sacred ground. Even now, it calls to those who wish to touch the deep, ancient rhythms of Ireland’s soul, a place where the past and present meet in the quiet echo of eternity.
HILL OF SLANE
The Hill of Slane, rising above the Boyne River, is a place where the whispers of ancient reverence still echo in the winds, a sacred threshold between the earthly and the divine. Though the fire of St. Patrick once blazed here, the hill’s soul holds a deeper, older flame, one that speaks of the goddess Brigid, keeper of the sacred hearth and the land’s fertile spirit. In the sacred hills of Slane, where kings once sought the goddess’s favor, the land itself is imbued with Brigid’s presence, her power of renewal, healing, and nourishment flowing through the soil like the pulse of the earth. The fire that once burned upon this hill, like the goddess's flame, symbolizes transformation—where light triumphs over darkness, and life is reborn in every season. At Slane, where earth and sky meet, Brigid’s spirit lingers still, a quiet guardian of the land’s eternal cycles, watching over the fires that both illuminate and renew the heart of Ireland.
HILL OF TARA
The Hill of Tara, crowned with ancient stones and legends, rises as a place of sovereignty and spiritual power, where the breath of Ireland’s past stirs in the earth. It is here, in the heart of the ancient kingdom of the Tuatha Dé Danann, that Brigid’s presence lingers, for she was not only a goddess of fire and healing but also of the land’s fertility and prosperity—her influence woven into the very fabric of Tara’s sacred soil. Tara was a site where kings were crowned, a place where the divine right to rule was sanctioned by the gods, and Brigid’s spirit would have been called upon to bless the land with abundance, wisdom, and grace. In the sacred flames that once flickered in Tara’s hilltop altars, we feel the echo of Brigid’s eternal fire, a symbol of transformation and divine illumination. The land, the sky, and the winds of Tara still carry the whispered prayers to Brigid, the guardian of sovereignty, who presides over the sacred union of the earth’s power and the people’s soul.
ROSNAREE
Rosnaree House, nestled along the Boyne River, stands in the shadow of history, where the ancient energies of Ireland still hum through the land. This sacred site, where the earth breathes with the rhythms of past rituals, carries with it the quiet presence of Brigid, goddess of the fire that nurtures and transforms. The waters of the Boyne, flowing nearby, echo with her spirit of fertility, renewal, and creativity, while the very land underfoot speaks of her power to heal and inspire. Though Brigid’s flame once burned brightly in temples and hearths across the land, her essence lingers in places like Rosnaree—where the sacredness of the earth, the flow of the river, and the whisper of the wind all align with her eternal rhythms. In this place, where nature’s pulse meets human history, Brigid’s presence is a quiet guardian, watching over the land as it continues its journey of rebirth and spiritual illumination.
ST BRIGID'S WELL, MULLINGAR
St. Brigid's Well in Mullingar is a place where the sacred waters flow with ancient whispers, a living thread between the divine and the earth. Here, the spirit of the goddess Brigid, once revered as the flame of healing and fertility, intertwines with the Christian legacy of St. Brigid, whose sanctity echoes the same rhythms of transformation and renewal. The well, kissed by the gentle Irish rains, has long been a site of pilgrimage, where the waters are said to possess the power to heal both body and soul, just as Brigid’s presence nourished the land and its people with her nurturing flame. In the quiet ripples of the well, one feels the pulse of Brigid’s eternal spirit, the same fire that once warmed hearths and inspired poets, now embodied in the sacred flow of water that nurtures life and light. At St. Brigid's Well, where earth, water, and spirit meet, the goddess’s essence remains, ever-present, tending to the sacred flame of hope, healing, and renewal.
HILL OF UISNEACH
The Hill of Uisneach, the spiritual heart of ancient Ireland, rises as a sacred axis where the energies of earth and sky converge, a place where the gods themselves once walked. Here, amid the stones of power and the whispers of ancestors, the spirit of Brigid finds its deep resonance, for Uisneach was a place where the great fires of the land were kindled, and Brigid’s flame, both creative and healing, would have burned bright. As goddess of the land’s fertility and sovereignty, Brigid’s presence is felt in the rich soil of Uisneach, where the ancient ritual of the sacred fire festival was held, marking the rhythms of the seasons and the renewal of life. The hill, a liminal space between the worlds, holds the memory of Brigid’s power to bring forth abundance and inspiration, her flame igniting the very soul of the land. In every stone, every breeze, and every flicker of light on Uisneach, the eternal spirit of Brigid lingers, a guardian of wisdom, healing, and the sacred cycles that sustain both the land and its people.
BRIGID'S FIRE TEMPLE, KILDARE
At Brigid’s Fire Temple in Kildare, the sacred flame burns eternally, a symbol of Brigid's undying presence, where the goddess of hearth, healing, and creativity once reigned supreme. This temple, built upon the land where her ancient sanctuary stood, is a living testament to her profound connection to both the earth and the divine fire that nourishes the soul. The flame, tended by the priestesses of Brigid for centuries, reflects her nurturing spirit, a beacon of hope, transformation, and the creative spark that illuminates the heart of Ireland. Kildare, a place of deep sacredness, pulses with Brigid’s energy, for it is here that the goddess’s flame symbolized the connection between the human and the divine, the warmth of home and hearth, and the renewal of the land’s fertility. In the quiet stillness of the temple and the flickering of its flame, Brigid’s spirit endures, forever tending to the sacred fire that burns not only in the temple, but in the hearts of all who seek her wisdom and light.
GLENDALOUGH
Glendalough, nestled in the lush, mystical valleys of the Wicklow Mountains, is a place where the whispers of ancient spirits intertwine with the rhythms of the land, carrying the essence of Brigid through its clear waters and sacred stones. Once a thriving monastic site, Glendalough is still imbued with the goddess’s presence, for Brigid, as goddess of healingand wisdom, would have been deeply connected to the land’s quiet power, its stillness offering sanctuary to those who sought spiritual renewal. The holy lakes, reflecting the sky and surrounding peaks, seem to carry within them the calm of Brigid’s healing waters, which once soothed the weary and the sick, offering both physical and spiritual nourishment. The valley of two lakes, with its rich energy, was a place where Brigid’s spirit of transformation and light would have touched the land, bringing fertility and peace to those who walked its trails. In the solitude of Glendalough’s wild beauty, where earth, water, and sky meet in harmony, Brigid’s sacred presence lingers, an eternal guardian of healing, inspiration, and the sacred fire of life.

ABOUT TREACY O'CONNOR
I am passionate about connecting the dots through the passage of the heart, reminding people of their own humanity, improving their ability to connect with themselves internally, so they can reach their full potential, and externally, with each other to achieve more productive, harmonious and inspiring collaborations.
I am deeply compassionate, warm, open hearted, empathetic, fun loving, authentic, inspirational, honest and straight to the point with a passion for Celtic spirituality. For me, ancient Ireland was a land where magic, music, poetry and wisdom were central to life, and were combined and understood by the ancient Celtic ancestors who recognised that all that exists is one, that we are of nature, not above it, and that balance, good health, and true wisdom were to be found by honouring nature, harmonizing with it and listening to it.
